Created in 1985 by Robert Roux, who is still the president, the Business Forum (which should rather be called the “entrepreneurs’ forum” because it is the members of the association who are the entrepreneurs) gathers its members around common values.
Debates, information, mutual assistance, business dealings, this network of around forty active people (not to mention the 200 who have alternated in the association’s life) has also helped forge strong friendships.
Looking through the list of members, one can find some well-known names from the local economic world and its associative network.
Moreover, in SMEs and very small enterprises, it is indeed the human element that counts, isn’t it?
The 30th anniversary was thus celebrated as it should be: a conference attended by authorities, a talk by Ethic* president Sophie de Menthon, and fond memories in a convivial atmosphere.
“We are a small association, but if we are still here after 30 years, it means that our role is considered useful by the associates,” said Robert Roux with emotion and pride.
A sort of non-virtual Facebook, the Forum has chosen a new frontier for the future: going international as a group.
Robert Roux further explains the concept: “We are employer companies. Organizing a mission or seeking new opportunities internationally is easier when several of us pool our contacts.”
China, the Baltic States, North Africa, and Romania have already been approached. The next step is Gabon.
A fine example of the know-how from Nice, managing to get by without always asking for help.
