Dolphins observed in the Bay and at Cap of Nice

On the initiative of the Marine World Discovery Center, it was possible to observe three small striped dolphins. It is rare to see them up so close. They were likely feeding following an influx of food near the shore.


dauphins_nice.jpg It was on a calm sea under a bright sun that elongated and dark silhouettes caught the attention of the Marine World Discovery Center yesterday.

Three curious and playful striped dolphins (Latin name Stenella coeruleoalba) ventured into the Baie des Anges and Cap de Nice.

These splendid marine mammals, intelligent and sociable, performed a magnificent ballet on and under the water without fear of being photographed by marine environment enthusiasts. They are witnesses to the biodiversity that thrives in the Mediterranean and near our coasts.

This incredible sea is rich in life that absolutely needs protection.
