The Yellow Vests will gather as usual around 2 p.m. at Thiers station, from where they will depart for their weekly walk through the city’s streets.
A new afternoon of confusion is to be expected.
We shall see whether “wisdom” will prevail over the desire for confrontation that drives many protesters who, in light of the political failure of the movement, have chosen forceful methods to make themselves heard.
In response, the Prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes has issued an order banning protests from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. in certain areas.
This includes various locations: Place De Gaulle, avenues Malaussena, Mรฉdecin, the small velum of Place Massรฉna, avenue de Verdun.
The perimeter covers an area bounded by the following streets:
To the north by Place Carlou Aubert up to the intersection with Avenue Alexandre Mari, Boulevard Jean Jaurรจs from Place Massena, Place Garibaldi.
To the west by Rue Sรฉgurane, Foresta, Place Guynemer.
To the south by Quays Rauba Capeu and des Etats-Unis.
To the east by Boulevard Max Gallo up to the intersection with Place Massena.
It is specified that the above-mentioned public roads are not affected by the ban on protests.
