From April 16 to 20, the Montserrat Caballé Hall is the stage for the “Opéra Minuscule,” the first French production dedicated to early childhood.
“The Opéra Minuscule,” co-produced and performed by Sabine Venaruzzo and Caroline Duval, is a musical show for children (starting from 6 months!) as well as for adults.
Through familiar situations such as, for example, the goodnight kiss, the aim is to allow children to grasp sounds that gradually transform into song. Adults, on the other hand, will be fascinated by the burlesque and tender poetry that emanates from these deceptively improvised scenes. A subtle chemistry that owes much to the talent of singers and actresses Sabine and Caroline, but also to the virtuosity of a minimalist yet poignant staging and the intrinsically lyrical yet never intrusive music composed by Benjamin Laurent.
The show’s presentation note references an opera from baby to grandpa. Let’s wager that while few babies will come without grandpa (or dad), there will be grandpas without babies to enjoy this multi-dimensional show. The proof: the show is sold out for its entire first week.
