Lionel Bringuier at the podium of the Opéra de Nice

Latest News

Lionel Bringuier wears multiple hats: conductor, pianist, and cellist. He was born in Nice on September 24, 1986. “A homecoming,” says Mr. Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice, when presenting Lionel Bringuier, who, for the 2019-2020 lyrical season, will be taking on the role of associate artist with the Nice Philharmonic Orchestra.

He’s a native of the area, having completed all his musical studies in Nice, discovering opera and the lyrical art as a child. Now an internationally recognized artist performing on the world’s most prestigious stages, he will conduct the orchestra of the Nice opera.

During his presentation, he gave us a glimpse of what’s to come: three concerts for the upcoming lyrical season: “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” by Paul Dukas, Ravel’s Piano Concerto, and Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring” on September 26 and 27, 2019, during the open house days at the Victorine studios.

Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1 with his brother Nicolas on January 26, 2020. Still Brahms with his Violin Concerto Opus 77 with Renaud Capuçon, as well as Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 on June 19 and 29, 2020.

Already enough to whet the appetites of music lovers while they await the rest of the program.
