The Metropolis will officially become the sixth partner of the European URBACT program during a conference on waste management that will take place until Thursday at the Mediterranean University Center.
The “Tropa Verde” platform, 70% funded by the European URBACT network, was created by the Spanish company Teimas in Santiago de Compostela with the aim of building a more sustainable city.
During a one-year trial period, the goal is to encourage the optimization of waste management by raising public awareness of sorting and the circular economy, increasing the number of collection points, and… By offering gifts!
These objectives align perfectly with the Metropolis’s 2025 Territorial Climate-Air-Energy Plan, which has developed an action plan aimed at improving waste treatment to save 10,000 tons of CO2 by 2026.
