The sand cloud from the Sahara is back in France.

Latest News

On March 15 and 28, France was swept by a sand cloud that gave the sky reddish-orange colors in several regions.

This phenomenon occurs when the sirocco, a dry and powerful wind, blows over North Africa and carries Saharan sand particles in its wake. The strength of the wind keeps the sand in the atmosphere and thus allows its movement. This violent wind leaves behind impressive traces of dust.

The phenomenon is surprising at first, but the population is starting to get used to it. In fact, many people have stopped washing their cars at the first signs of dust and prefer to wait until the cloud has completely passed.

According to several meteorologists, almost all of France will once again face this phenomenon at the beginning of next week. In terms of quantity, this wave will likely be between that of March 15 and March 28. Therefore, expect to find dust on outdoor installations without the sky taking on colors as it did during the first wave.

Once the cloud crossing is over, temperatures will rise above 20 degrees in most parts of the country. Be careful not to get too accustomed to this mild weather, as there will be sandy rains that will also leave traces of their passage in the country.
