Starting this Monday, the entire adult population was eligible for vaccination against Covid-19, a crucial step to prevent a resurgence of the epidemic as restrictions gradually ease. The 18-49 age group was officially the last category to be able to join the vaccination campaign without conditions, which has expanded in stages since its launch at the end of December.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized continued to decline: on Monday evening, 2,945 coronavirus patients were being cared for in critical care units.

In total, hospitals had 16,596 patients suffering from Covid-19, of which 529 were admitted in the last 24 hours. 126 people died in hospitals since the previous day, bringing the death toll to 83,116 since the start of the pandemic.

On the vaccination front, 25,763,596 people have received at least one injection (representing 38.5% of the total population) and 10,971,772 people have received two injections (representing 16.4% of the total population), since the start of the vaccination campaign in France. On Monday, 526,861 people were vaccinated: 332,239 received their first dose and 194,622 their second.
