Yesterday, Pascale ROUSSELLE, President of the Administrative Court of Nice, and Anthony BORRE, First Deputy Mayor of Nice, officially signed the first Mediation Agreement between the two parties.
This agreement is an additional recourse option. An alternative method for the amicable resolution of disputes. “There are many problems that can be resolved through discussion around the table rather than by a judge’s intervention” stated Bruno Lasserre, Vice President of the Council of State.
Mediation as a means to strengthen the social bond
The NCA metropolis provides its mediation service to the Administrative Court to alleviate the influx of disputes. It also aims to strengthen the social bond “thanks to the work of administrative agents who seek fairness and demonstrate adaptability in balancing tensions between the public interest and private interest.” Mediation also serves to consolidate public trust in the various municipal and metropolitan services. The people of Nice are therefore encouraged to first discuss with a mediator in case of disputes and, if necessary, bring the matter to the attention of a judge.
