The Diving Section of Olympic Nice Natation confirms the results achieved during the Winter Youth French Championships and even improves them during the Summer Youth and Elite French Diving Championships at the Schiltigheim pool in Strasbourg.
The Olympic Nice Natation diving team, composed of 8 divers: Clรฉmence CARON, Emma CHAMOUX, Kaliona DUCROUX-MURINOVA, Gabrielle LEBON, Leyth AGOUN, Lucas LEMONNIER, Dayen SAYHI, and Evan SIESKIND, faced off against the best divers from Lyon, Vaugneray, Paris, Montmorency, Strasbourg, Bordeaux, Albi, Nancy, and Monaco.
Out of the 24 titles up for grabs, in four girls’ categories and four boys’ categories, Romuald BORGO’s protรฉgรฉs won half: 6 for Leyth, 3 for Dayen, 2 for Gabrielle, and 1 for Evan.
The tone was set from the first competitions with Gabrielle and Dayen, both in the first year Benjamin(e)s Category (C1). Gabrielle, benefiting from daily training at Jean-Mรฉdecin pool, finished 1st in the 3m springboard, in High Diving (5m platform), and due to a lack of concentration during the competition, she placed 2nd in the 1m springboard.
Among the boys, Dayen achieved a golden hat trick, confirming his mastery of diving at all three heights.
In the second-year Benjamin(e)s Category (C2), among the girls, Kaliona, participating in her first French Championships, secured 2nd place in the 1m springboard and 3rd place in the 3m springboard. Among the boys, Leyth dominated all his opponents and won 6 French Champion titles in Benjamins C2 and in the Minimes Category due to his over-ranking. Lucas followed suit with a double silver in High Diving Benjamins C2 and Minimes at 3m.
In the Cadets category, Evan obtained the title of French Champion in High Diving and 3rd place in the 3m springboard.
Leyth AGOUN, with 10 French titles for 2018 (and 53 times French Champion since his first championships in 2013), has been selected to join the French Youth Team that will participate in the Mediterranean Swimming Confederation Cup (COMEN) in Rijeka, Croatia, from July 12 to 15. The French team will be managed by the Nice coach, Romuald BORGO.
A very fruitful 2018 harvest: 18 French Champion titles, 4 Vice-Champion titles, and 6 Bronze medals, confirming the excellent work initiated and heralding a growing list of Champions to come.
