37 years after its creation, Aquasplash now stands as one of the most popular water parks in France. Practically a week to the day after its opening, Nice Premium met with the park’s management to review the achievements and the new developments implemented for this new season.
From the start of our initial discussions with Damien Montay, director of Aquasplash, the azurรฉen park’s desire to ensure an accessible and enjoyable park for everyone, whether you’re alone or with family, was clear. Various attractions cater to all age groups and everyone’s desires. Notably, there’s the pirate island for the little ones or the Draguera for thrill-seekers.
As suggested by the motto of the Antibes water park (Sea, Safe and Sun), safety is one of Aquasplash’s priorities. In addition to mandatory external inspections carried out before opening, several systems have been put in place by the management. Two people are assigned to each attraction, one at the entrance responsible for explaining the instructions and another at the end, who holds a lifeguard diploma. Children who cannot swim are also closely monitored. To ensure staff can monitor them properly, the little ones have a bracelet that indicates their swimming level. If the child’s level does not seem to match the bracelet, swimming tests can be conducted by the staff.
The locals accustomed to spending their summer at Aquasplash will be surprised by the new facilities implemented. These have been carried out with a common goal: to improve user comfort.
“This year, we wanted to enhance the comfort of our site, the bathrooms and showers have been completely redone. The VIP areas have also been transformed.” This latter point is the main innovation for this summer 2022. More Balinese beds and marquees have been installed, and new paving has been laid.
These developments already seem to have borne fruit, as this first weekend marked one of the best starts for Aquasplash (around 12,000 people over two days).
