For the seventh consecutive weekend, anti-vax/pass protesters in Nice marched through the streets of the city center. The procession displayed signs with the usual inscriptions, with participants chanting familiar slogans.
According to the police, the number of protesters did not exceed a thousand.
After last week’s “punch” operations in a shopping center and at the vaccination center, this time the “hardliners” did not make an appearance, and everything went off without a hitch.
As a reminder, since August 16, the health pass has been required—not only in bars, restaurants, and long-distance transportation or hospitals—but also in shopping centers over 20,000 square meters in departments where the incidence rate exceeds 200 per 100,000 inhabitants over a week. This is the case in the Alpes-Maritimes, which exceeds 400.
Furthermore, as of Monday, the health pass will also be required for employees of places that already require it from their customers. Employees refusing to present it may see their work contracts suspended.
The DGS has announced that 48.3 million people have received their first vaccination.
