Latest News

It’s time again for the week’s cinema releases. As every Wednesday, we offer you a selection of five films, and it’s safe to say we’re spoiled this December.

1. Broker by Hirokazu Kore-eda

The renowned Japanese director returns with his new film with a 100% Korean production. After winning the Palme d’Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival with his film Shoplifters, Hirokazu Kore-eda presents us with a new story centered around family. As subtle as ever in his direction and the relationships between his characters, the director has chosen a stunning cast. Actors who form an on-screen family in this ever-so-human film.

2. The Worst Ones by Lise Akoka and Romane Gueret

In this feature film, we follow a group of teenagers from the Picasso housing estate in Boulogne-sur-Mer, chosen to act in a film. This dramedy delights with its cast of young actors, each more convincing than the last. A film about youth that will touch you to the core.

3. Maestro(s) by Bruno Chiche

This film explores the father-son relationship within the same professional path. Here, we follow Denis, a renowned conductor who has followed in the footsteps of his father, Franรงois. Their relationship proves to be quite conflictual, especially when his father is chosen to conduct at the Scala. A feature film that enchants our ears with its music and moves us with its actor duo, Yvan Attal and Pierre Arditi, both perfect in their roles.

4. Falcon Lake by Charlotte le Bon

This is a romance between two young adolescents, all set in an idyllic lakeside setting with a dreamy and sunny atmosphere. A love story, yes, but it also tells a ghost story. This slightly fantastical take gives the film all its charm. Notably, this is the first feature film by the talented Charlotte le Bon, and it’s safe to say it’s a success.

5. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish by Januel P. Mercado and Joel Crawford

For this final choice, a perfect film for the whole family, especially as the year-end holidays approach. The DreamWorks studios surprised us with the first installment released in 2011, and after this interminable wait, here is the long-awaited sequel. Puss in Boots is back, but he has exhausted all his lives, as cats have 9 lives, everyone knows. He will gather well-known allies to reclaim his lives and also to make the most of the one he has left. A beautiful animated film tinged with adventure, as successful as the previous one.
