Resounding success for the 27th edition of the Nice Book Festival: 58,000 visitors rushed to meet their favorite authors! From June 2 to 4, the festival offered an unforgettable literary experience, featuring meetings, signings, performances, readings, activities, and debates.
The numbers speak for themselves: 58,000 visitors passed through the festival’s doors, eager to discover the more than 200 authors present. Diversity was on the agenda, with writers coming from all walks of life: comic books, manga, novels, thrillers, children’s literature, poetry, and much more. The audience, comprising both young and old, was delighted to interact with these literary talents.
Book sales also saw a remarkable increase of 15%. This figure reflects the visitors’ enthusiasm for the works presented at this annual literary event. Bookstore stands were swamped, demonstrating the enthusiasm of reading enthusiasts to enrich their libraries.
The event was highlighted by two key moments during the opening ceremony, in the presence of Nice’s mayor, Christian Estrosi, and the honorary president of the festival, Giuliano da Empoli. This year, the prestigious Prix Nice Baie des Anges was awarded to Philippe Besson for his novel “Ceci n’est pas un fait divers” published by Julliard.
Young readers weren’t left out either, as the youth award “Le Livre des Elèves de Nice” was given to Anne-Gaëlle Morizur for her book “Mission Kidnapping pour Erin” published by Goater.
