On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, a ceremony was held in Nice to pay tribute to the French victims of the Hamas attack.

In the presence of Mayor Christian Estrosi and the president of the departmental council of the Alpes-Maritimes, Charles Ange Ginésy. Many people attended the ceremony to mourn the loss of the victims.

Following the national tribute on Wednesday, February 7, at the Elysée by Emmanuel Macron, Nice in turn honors the victims of Hamas. A ceremony that took place amidst tears, religious chants, and the flames of candles in memory of the deceased.

The commemoration included a part of President Emmanuel Macron’s speech broadcasted in Nice. A prayer was also offered for the departed. The Israeli and French anthems resonated to show the strength of the ties between these two countries.

Yellow ribbons appeared from Tuesday in Nice as a symbol of peace. This was led by the 7-October Côte d’Azur Collective, which works for the release of hostages captured during the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, 2023.
