Andréa Mifsud gave it his all
The rider from Nice Métropole Côte d’Azur found himself alone at the front, resisting a hesitant peloton for a long time. However, Andréa Mifsud was caught just 1.5 km from the finish line. “It was a very difficult day. I was a little bit disappointed earlier, but it remains a magnificent day for me. These are my training routes where I have struggled for years, and to be able to race at the front today was really something memorable for me. My family and friends were roadside… It was incredible,” the climber stated at the finish.
The native of Le Cannet will have to wait a bit longer before getting the opportunity to win on his home turf.
