The air traffic controllers’ unions are calling for a strike starting Thursday, April 25th. Nice will not be spared by this strike that will disrupt air traffic.

Despite long months of discussions between the civil aviation management and the air traffic controllers’ unions, the two parties have been unable to reach an agreement on the overhaul of air navigation services. The air traffic controllers’ unions have therefore decided to go on strike this Thursday, April 25th, in the middle of the holiday season.

Nice, having the third-largest airport in France after those in Paris, finds itself in difficulty. Numerous flights will be canceled during the holiday season, disrupting the entire organization of airlines and travelers.

What will happen?

Imane El Bouanani, Legal Manager France at Flightright, explains, “Staff strikes lead to delays for passengers and disrupt their initial plans. Airlines are required to offer an alternative to reach the destination or to refund the ticket if one no longer wishes to reach the intended destination.”

Nice will experience a large number of changes to its flights. It is currently estimated that 70% of flights will be canceled. Airlines will therefore be obliged to provide a solution to this problem that upends everything.
