For the fourth Grand Prix of the season, the two azure MotoGP riders are heading to the Jerez circuit in Spain.
A mixed start to the weekend for Fabio Quartararo, who is in 23rd position on the starting grid. However, during the sprint race of the Spanish Grand Prix, Fabio Quartararo climbed to the third step of the podium before being repositioned to 5th after a penalty. After more than a dozen crashes in the sprint race, the two azure riders took the opportunity to gain a few places. As for Johann Zarco, unlike the previous weekend, he managed to surpass Q2 and is in 13th position. In the sprint race, Johann Zarco is in 5th place before crashing a few meters from the finish.
Starting from 23rd place, Fabio Quartararo immediately gained five places, positioning himself behind Pedro Acosta in 18th position. For Johann Zarco, it was a difficult start as he dropped five places and found himself in 17th position. Neck and neck with Pedro Acosta, Johann Zarco dropped another place, but Dani Pedrosa’s fall allowed the two Frenchmen to position themselves in 16th place for Zarco and 18th for Quartararo.
A mixed race for the two azure riders
Unfortunately, Johann Zarco crashes due to a collision with Aleix Espargaro. Another weekend to forget for the Frenchman. The crashes continue, reminiscent of Saturday’s sprint race. Jorge Martin loses the front of his bike, allowing Quartararo to climb to fifteenth position, entering the points. Morbidelli and Miller also drop, and Quartararo takes the opportunity to gain two more places, finishing in 13th position.
With three laps to go until the finish line, Fabio Quartararo drops two positions, letting his teammate Alex Rins take over. He ends up in 15th position, just at the points threshold. After an incredible battle for first place between Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez, the Italian takes the victory, followed by the young Spanish talent and Marco Bezzecchi. Fabio Quartararo calmly finishes in fifteenth position, earning just one point.
