The third edition of the Nice Côte d’Azur by UTMB concluded on Sunday after three intense days of competitions. Reflecting in images on the results and organization of this event.
Nearly 6,000 runners, representing 79 nationalities, participated in the five proposed races, with distances ranging from 20 km to 100 miles (158 km). At the finish line, 4,343 runners crossed the arch on the Promenade des Anglais, 26.6% of whom were women.
This edition highlighted inspiring initiatives. The Monegasque Sporting Association of Joëlette participated in the 20 km with Ange Revollon. Thanks to the joëlettes, this association enables adults and children with disabilities to experience running events. Their presence illustrated the event’s commitment to promoting inclusion in sports.
The weekend also saw the participation of 13 young people from the Alpine Run Project, supported by John McAvoy. Their goal is to raise awareness among their generation about the benefits of running in nature. Under their slogan “From the streets to the peaks,” these young Brits shared their enthusiasm and were proud to discover the event for the first time.
No fewer than 800 volunteers were mobilized to make this edition a grand success on the international ultra-trail scene. Each participant had the opportunity to explore the wonders of the Mercantour and the hinterland of Nice while discovering the unique beauty of the southern region and the Côte d’Azur.
Cristofer Clemente Mora and Courtney Dauwalter: Great Winners
The weekend was marked by challenging weather conditions on the 100 miles, with rain, snow, and wind. Despite this, the spectacle was impressive and the competition fierce. Vincent Bouillard (winner of the UTMB Mont Blanc 2024) made a mark with his victory in the 20 km, while Courtney Dauwalter finished second in the Ultra Trail Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur. An outstanding performance as she finished just 13 minutes behind the male winner Cristofer Clemente Mora. The Spaniard won in 21h22”14.
