Latest News

Trained in criminal justice and psychology, autopsy technician and co-founder of Morbid, a podcast dedicated to true crime and very popular in the USA, Alaina Urquhart skillfully uses her skills in writing her thrillers. After From the Shadows, It Will Emerge, here comes The Game Can Resume! a direct sequel to the first volume where the author continues her hunt for the “butcher of the bayou,” a cunning serial killer.

Readers had left Wren Muller in the midst of reconstruction after her confrontation with Jeremy. Unfortunately, we find her in a state of panic and struggling with her trauma; Jeremy Rose being on the run makes it almost impossible for her to recover peacefully. Especially since Jeremy does not intend to stop there, and his bloody journey begins again with only one goal: to draw Wren to him and finally end it.
Thus, Wren, her husband Richard, and Inspector Leroux head north of the United States to investigate potential victims of Jeremy.

The Game Can Resume! A Serial Killer. A Forensic Pathologist. Which one will prevail?

After escaping the butcher of the bayou, Wren struggles to get back on track, and in this new volume, the author does not spare her heroine by forcing her to track Jeremy Rose across the United States. With a direct and straightforward style, she pushes readers to sacrifice their nights to chase Jeremy. Alaina Urquhart also allows us to learn more about him, particularly his adolescence, a highly formative period, by incorporating into the story a new character critical to the development of his personality.

However, readers who appreciate a bit more depth in thrillers might be a little disappointed, as some sentences could have used more details and descriptions for a more complete immersion. Also, be cautious of the torture scenes, which are numerous and lengthy, as they may shock some readers.

The Game Can Resume! is the thriller suitable for the end of this summer: suffocating and distressing, it will offer little respite to readers.
