The correctional court rendered its decision on Wednesday, August 5th, at 1:30 PM, regarding the violence and humiliation suffered by Jean Pormanove. The streamers “Naruto” and “Safine” are convicted of establishing a system of human mistreatment and are banned from digital platforms.
The judgment against Owen Cenazandotti alias “Naruto” and Safine Hamadi, called Safine, is rendered. They are found guilty of violence in a group against Jean Pormanove (JP: editor’s note) and Stéphane Guy (Coudoux: editor’s note). The defendants are also found guilty of incitement to hatred or violence and face 6 months of digital ban according to the SREN law (securing and regulating digital space) of May 21, 2024. However, they are acquitted of abuse of weakness, distribution of violent images, and discrimination based on sexual orientation.
Owen receives two years in prison suspended and 15,000 euros in fines, while Safine receives eighteen months in prison suspended and 5,000 euros in fines.
It should be noted that prosecutor Maud Marty requested for Naruto, thirty months in prison, including one year in home confinement under electronic monitoring and 30,000 euros in fines. As for Safine, 18 months in suspended prison with probation and 15,000 euros in fines. Additionally, a digital ban was requested.
Two years of violence and humiliation live
The two streamers hosted live broadcasts every evening on the platforms Twitch, then Kick between 2023 and 2025. In these, all sorts of violence, such as slaps, kicks or baseball bat blows, are visible. Insults and buckets of water being thrown are also present, according to the AFP.
The prosecutor described this as a “system of human mistreatment” against Jean Pormanove and Coudoux, an adult under guardianship. The defense argued that it was funny to see JP get angry, which pushed the defendants to commit more scenes of violence.
However, the autopsy did not conclude that the direct cause of JP’s death was due to the intervention of other people. For this reason, the trial did not focus on the death of Mr. Pormanove, but on the humiliation and violence suffered during the live streams (live broadcasts on platforms). JP’s family regrets, however, that this did not take place in assizes court, the magistrate finding the jurisdiction incompetent.
Who was in “Le Lokal”?
Raphaël Graven, alias JP, was 46 years old. He was accompanied by Stéphane Guy, a man in his forties with a disability under guardianship who denied being a victim but rather part of “a group of friends”. According to the autopsy, JP died of natural causes.
The main defendant is Owen Cenazandotti, Naruto, aged 27. He was the creator and central host of the live streams (live broadcasts on platforms). He managed the studio “Le Lokal” in Contes, in the Alpes-Maritimes where the mistreatment scenes took place. He justifies his acts “without seeing the harm” comparable to playful challenges of Cyril Hanouna or Mickaël Young.
The second defendant is Naruto’s childhood friend, Safine Hamadi alias Safine, aged 24. He joined his colleague to co-host the live streams. He decided to keep a low profile during the trial and admits he is not “proud” of his actions. The unemployed man also confided that he suffers daily harassment and is treated as a murderer.
Both are also subject to an investigation into their financing as they never declared to the tax authorities what they received.
