Pink October: The Parc Impérial Clinic in Nice mobilized for breast cancer screening

Latest News

The Parc Impérial Clinic will organize a morning of discussions and information this Wednesday, October 8, 2025, as part of Pink October. A meeting open to all to emphasize the importance of early detection of the disease and to present, at the same time, the patient care systems in place.

Every year for 30 years now, Pink October raises awareness about breast cancer prevention and screening. The Parc Impérial Clinic in Nice will participate in this national campaign with a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 8 at 10 a.m. Doctors, caregivers, and associations will be present to inform and answer public questions.

The objective is clear: to remind that an early diagnosis increases the chances of recovery and thus helps limit the severity of treatments. This action is part of the clinic’s long-term commitment to providing comprehensive care for patients.

Inform, Support, and Heal

Breast cancer affects more than 61,000 women in France each year, according to the Cancer League. In 80% of cases, it occurs after the age of 50. Detected early, it can be treated more effectively, with a five-year recovery rate estimated at 88%. A result that brings hope.

At the Parc Impérial Clinic, the fight against breast cancer is based on a multidisciplinary approach. Three oncologists and two doctors manage around 250 patients a year. The cases are regularly discussed during multidisciplinary consultation meetings to define the most suitable protocol for each situation.

The treatments can vary depending on the type of tumor. They often combine surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, or targeted therapies, providing patients with an increasing number of options. The initial goal is to control the disease while preserving quality of life.

The medical team works closely with psychologists, a dietician, a socio-beautician, and a social worker. This comprehensive support aims to accompany women through all dimensions of the disease, both physical and psychological. The latter aspect is often a key factor in the path to remission.

Supportive care plays a central role. It helps better manage pain, the side effects of treatments, or changes related to physical appearance. Patients can also benefit from the support of partner associations like the Alpes-Maritimes Cancer League or SOS Breast Cancer.

Screen to Heal Better

In France, organized breast cancer screening targets women aged 50 to 74. Every two years, they receive an invitation for a free mammogram. This exam, combined with a palpation, helps detect potential anomalies before symptoms appear.

The most important thing in case of suspicion is to perform an early diagnosis. It remains the most effective way to act. The teams at the Parc Impérial Clinic emphasize that certain signs should alert: a change in breast shape, a lump, localized pain, abnormal nipple discharge, or skin alteration. If in doubt, a quick consultation is essential.

The meeting on Wednesday, October 8 will allow these issues to be discussed with professionals and volunteers. Discussions are planned around screening, care, and support during and after the illness. The association Onco Paca-Corse, which supports oncology coordination, will also be present.

A Committed Clinic in Nice

Located on Boulevard du Tzarewitch, the Parc Impérial Clinic has 152 beds and places, including 18 for day hospital chemotherapy. It is the only private clinic in the city center with an emergency service, hosting 23,000 stays and 15,000 emergency visits each year.

It is part of the Sedna Santé group, which includes several establishments in the Alpes-Maritimes. Together, they account for 630 beds and 47,000 patients managed each year.
