In Dardilly, near Lyon, on March 24 and 25, 2026, the youth teams of ANICES won both the women’s and men’s finals of the national Torball tournament. This performance was built on consistency, commitment, and teamwork.
The trip to Dardilly, in the Lyon area, turned into a success for the Nice delegation. Six young athletes, Asowala, Leyna, Lucile, Émilie, Mohamed, and Giorgi, represented Nice during the national Torball tournament. The management was provided by Laurence, Kamélya, and Clarisse. The group left the Côte d’Azur the day before the competition.
The next morning, the teams discovered the gymnasium. They quickly got acclimated. The competition began with the women’s matches. The first match was between Nice and Nancy, ending with a 6 to 3 victory. This first result set a positive dynamic. The women’s team then continued with several games consistently.
The boys entered the arena right after. Their first match against Besançon concluded with an undisputed score of 10 to 0. Mohamed, Giorgi, and Alexandre, who joined to strengthen the team, participated in this strong start. The team quickly found their rhythm. Ball movement and defensive positioning contributed to their stability.
A day well-managed from start to finish
Throughout the morning, the Nice women prevailed against Villeurbanne (3-2), Inja Paris (3-2), and finally Marseille-Clermont (4-1). Each match remained competitive, but they created separation over time. Managing the weak moments helped maintain the advantage.
Regarding the men’s side, matches were also successfully played back-to-back. A tight victory against Villeurbanne 1 (4-3) demonstrated their ability to withstand pressure. Another match against Villeurbanne 2 ended with a score of 7 to 1. All players maintained a constant level of intensity. Offensive phases relied on precise shots, while the defense minimized openings.
The afternoon marked the beginning of the finals. The semifinals confirmed the strength of the Nice group. The boys outperformed Besançon with a score of 9 to 2. The girls faced Marseille-Clermont. The match remained competitive but ended with a 5 to 3 victory. Collective engagement and key moment management made the difference.
Each group member contributed to this progress. The work done throughout the season was reflected in their attitudes and decisions on the field. Instructions were followed diligently. Exchanges between players and coaches remained constant.
The finals wrapped up the day. The boys faced Villeurbanne, winning 7 to 2. The girls faced Inja Paris and also won by the same score, 7 to 2. Both teams stood atop the podium.
This result represented continuity for the men’s group, already titled the previous year. As for the women’s team, marked progress was evident after a tougher previous edition. The work done over time translated into this title.
Individual statistics highlighted everyone’s contribution. Asowala scored 13 goals, Leyna 10, Lucile 5, and Émilie 1. Among the boys, Alexandre scored 18 goals, Mohamed 12, and Giorgi 7. Émilie participated in her first competition, having started practicing this season, and scored her first official goal.
The coaching staff supported this evolution throughout the year. Laurence provided regular oversight, while Kamélya and Clarisse managed the trip. The organization of the tournament relied on the involvement of Sylvie Pallot, who has been committed to organizing this event for several years.
The role of ANICES remains central in providing access to sports for these young players. Participation in such competitions offered a structured environment, and the matches helped develop collective and individual bearings.
The return to Nice was made with two national titles. The group returns with a great shared experience.
