The City of Nice hosts its 2014 Telethon

Like every year, the Telethon weekend will feature numerous activities, shows, sports competitions, challenges and many other events that will allow Nice residents to actively participate in this essential meeting since 1987. See you Friday, December 5 and Saturday, December 6 at Garibaldi Square and at Laure Ecard Space and don’t forget **36 37**

Shows, challenges, activities, gastronomy, sports, thrills… Nothing will be missing from this new edition of the Telethon in the city of Nice, which this year will take place mainly at Garibaldi Square and at Saint Roch Space.

9 STATIONARY BIKES will allow volunteers to pedal, in exchange for a donation, in solidarity with the traveling team. A team of 15 cyclists left Tuesday, December 2, 2014 to reach PARIS for the presentation of a check to AFM TELETHON on Saturday, December 6, 2014.

**HOLY VOICES**
Gospel Concert Directed by Misse MALLO choir director and pianist, vocal group regularly composed of about fifteen members (men and women divided into 3 sections) performing essentially NEGRO SPIRITUALS and traditional and contemporary GOSPEL songs. They share every Wednesday the joy of singing these songs expressing both the greatest sadness and overflowing joy.
Their repertoire is enriched with some “world songs” with religious connotations “Senor eres fiel” or “humanist”: “Quand on n’a que l’amour”, “L’Hymne à l’amour”, “Lean on me”, “Don’t worry, be happy”

**SHAKIN’ MAMAS**
Preceded by the Nice Gospel Group, the Shakin’ Mamas offer a 45-minute concert of covers of great standards from the 60s-70s, midway between rhythm and blues and soul tinged with pop. With choruses inspired by Gospel, in which the four singers have been immersed since their early youth and very pleasant hip movements, they revisit this repertoire with communicative pleasure. Joy, fervor and emotion promise to be on the agenda.

**NICE MUNICIPAL POLICE ASSOCIATION**
The association organized a 910 km cycling route connecting Nice to Evry. Thus, nine cyclists, essentially municipal police officers, will relay each other for four days, from Wednesday December 3 to Saturday December 6. Funds collected in Nice and in the various stage cities will be donated to the AFM TELETHON headquarters in Evry.

To support this initiative, stationary bikes will allow volunteers to pedal for the day, in exchange for a donation, in solidarity with the traveling team.

**CHILDREN OF PROVENCE RAILWAYS**
The association Children and Railways in Provence, ECP, has set itself the goal of giving voice to schoolchildren from the Maritime Alps and Upper Provence Alps through a competition it proposes each year to schools, whose subject always includes awakening to citizenship and where all children are rewarded.
Always a very colorful stand and fun and educational activities for children for the benefit of Telethon children!

Jérôme DELPECH from the Handi-Leisure association is waiting for you to climb on a climbing wall to the rhythm of Telethon!
Guy THAON, Vice Champion of France in climbing in 1995 and member of the French climbing team FFME invites you to join them at the climbing stand. He has been a state-certified climbing instructor since 2004, he will supervise all day the little ones and older people who want to try climbing!

Leo Club Nice Comté de Nice Association – Sister association of the Lions Club International which brings together young volunteers between 18 and 33 years old organizing social initiatives for different populations: sick children, disadvantaged, disabled etc.
Games: Inflatable sumo, knock-down game, duck fishing, children’s face painting in partnership with a makeup school.

**COMMUNITY CENTER FOR SOCIAL ACTION – MUNICIPAL SOCIAL ACTION – DISABILITY MISSION of the City of Nice**
Sale for Telethon benefit of Christmas decorations, greeting cards, as well as bags and aprons in fabrics created by residents of EHPAD, beneficiaries of the social connection service and members of the “Le Village” social center.

**FRENCH RED CROSS**
A regional organization.
Strong with a network of 20 Regional Health and Social Training Institutes (consisting of nursing schools, health management schools, medical-social secretarial schools… continuing education centers), we develop training offerings in line with the needs of individuals, with the professionalization requirements of employees and organizations, in a dynamic of anticipation and innovation for new forms of intervention. To “learn throughout life” our institutes offer training as part of a continuum: pre-qualification, initial training, continuing professional training.

All together against disease!

Two initiatives are led by these two very dynamic and sporty associations!

A night walk: with departure at 6 PM and return expected at 8 PM (approximately 6.2 km)

A Photo Marathon Circuit: with departure at 3 PM and return expected at 5 PM (approximately 6.2 km)

The concept of a photo marathon is to take photos according to imposed themes and a given time. 4 themes will be revealed on the day. The first theme will be given at the time of registration on Garibaldi Square. All information about this photographic walk at their stand.
