The curfew targeting minors in several neighborhoods of Nice ended this Monday, October 26, 2026 at 6 a.m. The City indicates, however, that this exceptional measure could be reinstated if the situation requires it.
A week after it came into effect, the curfew for minors in Nice is lifted. In a statement dated Monday, October 26, Mayor Éric Ciotti announces the end of the municipal order adopted on October 19, following the violence and looting that occurred in the streets of the city.
A restriction applied for one week
The measure applied each night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., in several sectors: the city center, Vieux-Nice and the Trachel/Gare du Sud sector. It aimed to prevent further disturbances, according to the municipality.
Its expiration this Monday at 6 a.m. corresponds to the deadline set when it was put in place. The restrictions related to this order are therefore no longer in effect as of this time.
The measure had been announced in the context of the disturbances of October 17 and 18. NicePremium had detailed the establishment of the curfew and associated security measures.
The city does not rule out a new curfew
In its statement, the City specifies that the vigilance of law enforcement remains complete. Éric Ciotti reserves the possibility of reinstating a curfew, in consultation with the prefect of Alpes-Maritimes, as soon as next weekend if circumstances require it.
At this stage, this is a possibility, not the announcement of a new order. No new curfew period is therefore announced in the October 26 statement.
