An accident occurred this Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Riquier SNCF station in Nice. The alert was raised around 9:25 AM. At 9:30 AM, the SAMU 06 arrived on the scene. According to initial reports, a person was struck by a train.
Emergency services confirm the death of a 54-year-old woman. In a statement, the SDIS 06 specified that “the victim is a 54-year-old woman, who has been declared deceased. Six individuals who witnessed the scene are receiving care from the SAMU’s psychological emergency unit.”
The firefighters continue their intervention late this morning.
Platforms evacuated, replacement buses and traffic disrupted
The two platforms at the station have been evacuated to facilitate emergency response actions. The intervention is still ongoing. Train traffic is interrupted in both directions at the Riquier SNCF station.
The disruptions will continue until further notice. Traffic is not expected to resume before early afternoon. Travelers are advised to check with the SNCF before any journeys.
Passengers present in the trains have been evacuated. Replacement buses have been arranged towards Monaco, where the Historic Grand Prix is taking place this weekend in the Principality, as well as towards Ventimiglia, the line’s terminus.
