Let’s remember that this election will involve 55,000 business leaders who are called to elect the Council composed of 59 members.
The UPE06 list will be led by Bernard Kleynhoff, a 57-year-old business owner, trained engineer, and owner of Berkley Packaging and Berkley Paints in Carros.
Bernard Kleynhoff, who is Vice-President of the UPE, has already been sitting on the consular institution since the year 2000 and is in charge of Ecobiz’s development.
He heads a list that represents 59 candidates, including 34 from member category unions and 25 from companies directly registered with the UPE, which also represent the economic basins of the department.
He is the big favorite in this election and is even aiming for the โgrand slam,โ as his predecessor Dominique Esteve achieved, who now targets the regional presidency whose importance and influence will increase in the future following the implementation of reforms that will combine the 7 departments constituting the PACA Region.
We gathered a few remarks from Bernard Kleynhoff:
“I consider the management record of Dominique Esteve to be generally very positive and therefore I am following in that continuity. If there will be just one difference, it will be in the fact that I want to maybe do less but better.
The Chamber of Commerce is meant to be at the service of businesses to promote the economic development of our region.
I have a project but not a program because it will only be with the elected officials, after collective work, that we will be able to establish it.
My basic idea is that we must serve the greatest number of businesses as best as possible, without forgetting that the general interest we must represent is not the sum of particular, individual interests.
I am in favor of innovation and promoting everything that can change for the better. We must remember that while the methods each one employs are not always the same, our objectives remain the same and are common to every business: its prosperity.”
