With nearly 1,200 apprentices in 17 trades, the interprofessional CFA in Carros, opened in 1978 and managed by the city since 2000, is now the largest in the region. The establishment boasts excellent results, with an exam pass rate of over 80%, compared to a national average of 50%.
Its apprentices are regularly awarded medals at the Un des Meilleurs Apprentis de France* competition. This establishment is a flagship of apprenticeships on the Cรดte d’Azur. For the past 16 years, the Department has provided the premises occupied by the CFA to the municipality free of charge.
Accompanied by Charles Scibetta, mayor of Carros, Charles-Ange Ginรฉsy, deputy and 1st Vice-President of the Departmental Council, visited the establishment and met the educational leaders: “It is a great success that we have in our territory reaching this level of excellence thanks to a high-quality management team and teachers, as well as strong partnerships with large companies.”
For him, “We must develop apprenticeship training in our country. It is a major challenge for our country because it guarantees a 70% integration rate into the job market. Since 2012, the number of apprenticeships has dropped by nearly 10% after three consecutive years of increase. In Carros, enrolment is steadily increasing: while this establishment hosted 730 apprentices and trainees in 1999, today they are nearly double.”
