A realization for Christian Estrosi: โAdvertising posters are damaging to the environment.โ The poster for the city fair recently sparked a scandal among the population of Nice. For the Deputy Mayor, it is โdegrading to the image of women as well as to the image of the city.โ It has been clearly stated that such a thing should not happen again. Consequently, the Mayor of Nice wishes to impose his approval on posters before they are published.
The chief magistrate of the city launches his vision of a more beautiful, greener city with less advertising. According to him, advertisements are too prevalent in our daily lives and spoil the landscapes of the city of Nice. A better integration of advertising in urban environments is anticipated.
The project includes a ban on posters larger than 12 meters and 3/4, a restriction on rolling signs between midnight and 7 am, and the removal of the Maurice column. This initiative is set to start today and could take from two to four years depending on its economic and legal analysis.
The challenge is to showcase the beauty of Nice by limiting advertising posters as much as possible and by enhancing the territory.
โI want people to look at my city.โ
