This evening, the lights will shine on the stage of the Juliette Gréco hall in Carros for the inauguration of the 11th edition of Cinéalma, the festival of Mediterranean cinema.
An event initially initiated by Charles Scibetta, now the mayor, along with the Cinéactions association in this town located in the heart of the Var valley, which year after year enjoys increasing success.
This edition will mainly feature Italian films (the birthplace of the first mayor): 8 films by Italian directors will be screened, highlighting the richness and dynamism of the country’s film production.
One of the highlights of the program will be the screening of the film Chiamatemi Francesco by Daniele Luchetti, a biopic on the life of the Pope, which will be presented for the very first time in France.
In total, 34 feature films will be presented, including 25 new releases and premieres. 17 countries will be represented.
It’s an opportunity to meet and debate live with the directors and actors.
The festival will begin this evening at 8:30 PM with the presentation of Marco Bellocchio’s film, who is announced to be present, “Sweet Dreams.”
The closing ceremony and award presentation will take place on Sunday 16th at 9:15 PM.
