In 24 hours, 6,386 new deaths and 290,730 new cases have been recorded worldwide. To date, the coronavirus pandemic has caused 2,400,543 deaths globally since the start of the epidemic in December 2019. The countries that have recorded the highest number of new deaths recently are the United States with 1,156 new deaths, followed by Brazil (713) and Mexico (436). In Europe, there have been a total of 35,571,937 cases and 804,135 deaths.

The Situation in France and the PACA Region

4,376 new cases and 413 deaths have been reported in France over the past 24 hours, according to Public Health France. According to the Ministry of Health, three million doses have been administered in the country.

The total tally in France has increased to 3,469,539 Covid-19 cases and 82,226 deaths, including 58,227 in hospitals. Health authorities report 26,522 people are hospitalized, with 3,381 in intensive care. The positivity rate is 5.9%.

In the PACA region, there are 1,702 people hospitalized (+40), 438 people in intensive care (+5), and 5,218 hospital deaths since the start of the health crisis (+111). As of February 14, 184,427 people have received a first dose of the vaccine, with 46,990 having received both doses.

In the Alpes-Maritimes, health authorities have recorded 360 conventional hospitalizations (+25), 102 people in intensive care (+7), 239 patients in follow-up and rehabilitation care, and 954 deaths have been counted (+25).

Moselle Heavily Impacted Responds

The Moselle department is heavily impacted by the Covid-19 epidemic, particularly the variants. To address the situation, the Moselle prefecture announced, in a statement, the delivery of an additional 30,000 vaccine doses to the department as part of a special allocation.

The department conducted “an exceptional vaccination operation of 2,000 people over the weekend, in addition to the more than 35,000 people who have already received at least one injection,” the prefecture stated in its release. “Moselle will also receive an additional 28,000 doses over the next two weeks, in addition to the initially planned deliveries.”
