Destruction of the Acropolis: Vardon’s Overture to Ciotti

Latest News

In a statement published by his opposition group, Philippe Vardon addressed Eric Ciotti and called for a united rally.

At the end of the meeting against the demolition of Acropolis organized on Saturday afternoon by the elected officials of the Retrouver Nice group, Philippe Vardon directly addressed the deputy of the 1st constituency. He called on Eric Ciotti to “take responsibility” to prove that his change in position on the demolition of Acropolis was not solely related to his quarrel with Christian Estrosi.

Indeed, as Philippe Vardon reminded, the deputy had supported Christian Estrosi in the demolition project during the 2020 municipal elections and had even voted for departmental council aid in this direction. Nonetheless, he acknowledged his current position and emphasized that two elected officials (Jean Moucheboeuf and Geneviève Pozzo di Borgo) had participated in his rally against the project last week. A presence he explained by a statement made and cheered at the end of the session:

“Together, all together, I am convinced that we can still make Estrosi back down. Together, we can gather not just a few dozen or hundreds of people from Nice on our own, but thousands.” A “reaching hand” that Eric Ciotti will need to seize before February 28th, the date marking the end of the stay granted by the justice following the employees’ actions.
