La Roca Team has finally returned to winning ways but must continue moving forward if they hope to climb back up as much as possible. In a frantic match, the Turks were superior in the first half but Monaco managed to reverse the trend in the final quarter to win.
1st Quarter: 21-23
Mike James and his teammates start the match well, we see him passing, shooting, he takes care of everything and sets up the game. The game is fluid and it’s scoring. Anadolu responds, and we witness a one-on-one between the two teams. Anadolu relies on their good three-point shooting, and Matthew Strazel then Elie Okobo hang on to keep their team in the game. They manage the game well and resist Turkish assaults at the start of the match. They even take the lead at the end of the quarter.
2nd Quarter: 53-45
Anadolu Efes doesn’t slow down, they even accelerate. Sehmus Mater dissects Monaco’s defense and takes his teammates along with him. Fast break baskets, three-pointers, he does it all. Strazel’s teammates hang on but it’s difficult to face such accuracy.
The Turks inflict a 32-22 on the principality’s men in this quarter, we’re witnessing an offensive match.
3rd Quarter: 73-66
It’s a replay of the first period that we’re witnessing at the start of the second half. The two teams trade blows, Matthew Strazel steps up his game, the Turks respond. No team goes on a run and the gap remains the same throughout the quarter.
4th Quarter: 93-98
As could be expected, the Monegasques stepped up their game in the third quarter without inflicting a run on the Turks because of certain turnovers by Mike James or Matthew Strazel.
The principality’s men break down Turkish defense. Alpha Diallo, Jared Blossomgame increase the intensity and hurt Turkish defense. Matthew Strazel and Elie Okobo score from distance to drive home the advantage. The Turks can no longer keep up with the pace and eventually let the match slip away.
Next match for La Roca Team this Saturday in Betclic Elite on the court of Graveline.
