Fabien Bénard, MODEM candidate for the 6th district

Latest News

Fabien Bénard currently holds no political office. He is a professional educator and has always emphasized his lack of any formal mandate. This is a key argument since he does not see how one can handle multiple political roles and assume all their constraints.

This man knows what he wants and does not want. He understands politics, his politics, and the district. An activist in his youth, Fabien Bénard is experienced. He has been involved in community life for a long time, a former member of the Youth Council, and a candidate in numerous elections (legislative, European, municipal, and county).

Through his profession, he is aware of today’s issues. “Social issues” have been his focus from the beginning. “This is what I’ve been shouting about for a year,” he explains. Naturally, this theme is central to his campaign. Fabien Bénard seeks to establish a balance. A balance among the three neighborhoods of the district, which he believes could help each other “reach greater heights.” He also seeks generational balance, aiming for “intergenerationality,” and gives a simple example: “place public benches where the elderly and the young can mix.” He loves dialogue and exchange, a concept he has adapted in his own way with the “Democratic Café” held monthly at the Brasserie Borriglione.

For this new campaign, he has made no changes to the themes of his program. The economy, with the aim of creating businesses; the environment, by creating green spaces and developing small facilities. The only difference in this campaign is his deputy: Sandrine Julien. She replaces Arlette Sibé who wanted to “make way for the youth.”

Highly aware of the role of a county official within the department, Fabien Bénard distinguishes between his various projects. He has outlined in his program several things to be done at the county level, and others at the regional level (a county official gets one vote at the regional level). His campaign exhibits true educational value. Organized, meticulous, and very punctual (he arrived ten minutes early), Fabien Bénard is primarily driven by social concerns, “more and better,” as he puts it.
