The document reports the trends that were observed in the international transfer market during the year 2014 at the global, regional, and national levels. The novelty this year is that the report also includes information on the international transfer activities for a number of European clubs.

The GTM 2015 report provides a comprehensive and transparent overview of the global transfer market. The objective is to enhance the knowledge of stakeholders, specifically clubs, associations, intermediaries, and generally all participants. The report also aims to enable everyone to make decisions under the best conditions.

The Global Transfer Market 2015 offers a unique insight into the activity and evolution of the market: transfer-related amounts, player characteristics, and the involvement of intermediaries in transfers.

For the first time since its launch, the report also includes a section on applications of minor players submitted to the international transfer regulation system as well as the list of countries that recruited the most minor players in 2014.

In 2014, the total amount of international transfers reached a new peak with 4.1 billion dollars.

In 2014, the total number of international transfers was 13,090.

Brazil was the most active country in this market with 646 incoming transfers and 689 outgoing transfers.

After the FIFA World Cup, the value of French players increased: 290 French players were transferred for a total amount of 207 million dollars between July 13 and December 31, 2014. At the same time in 2013, 237 players were transferred for an amount of 138 million dollars.

England was the highest-spending country in the transfer market in 2014 (1.17 billion dollars), while Spain collected the most money (667 million dollars).

A total of 236 million dollars in commissions were paid to intermediaries for international transfers throughout the year 2014.
