It’s official, Cavigal handball has been promoted to Nationale 1 tonight after their home victory against Antibes. A first step successfully achieved this season with the goal of returning to the Proligue.
Fifteenth victory of the season for Cavigal handball. Gérald Jean-Zephirin’s men won the Riviera derby against neighboring Antibes (34-26). A match expertly led by a solid team bolstered by the duo Alexis Bon and Florian Graglia, each scoring seven goals. The former even achieved a 100% shooting success, as did Oscar Mainar Perez with his six goals from as many attempts. The performance of the Nice goalkeeper Maxime Aicardi was also notable, making 18 saves tonight.
While the top scorer of the evening was from Antibes (Jérémy Bossenauer, 9 goals), it was indeed Cavigal’s team effort that overcame the second-place team in the championship.
