Université Côte d’Azur will officially launch its Côte d’Azur Artificial Intelligence Institute on November 22 at 11 am. David Simplot, Director of the 3IA, will present the progress of the project, surrounded by the institute’s partners. This launch will take place during the closing ceremony of the second edition of the SophIA Summit.
Recognized as an Interdisciplinary Institute of Artificial Intelligence by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in April 2019, the 3IA Côte d’Azur will be officially launched on Friday, November 22, 2019, at the Sophia Antipolis technopole.
Driven by Université Côte d’Azur, this institute project brings together the main actors of the site such as CNRS, Inria, Inserm, EURECOM, MINES ParisTech, SKEMA Business School with the support of CEA, CHU Nice, CSTB, CNES, Data Science Tech Institute, and INRA. The project has also been supported by more than 60 companies from the area including Accenture, Amadeus, ARM, Blu Manta, Doriane, inHEART, NXP, Renault, SAP, Thales, and Therapixel, as well as by local authorities and particularly the Sophia Antipolis Agglomeration Community, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council, and the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur Region.
The 3IA Côte d’Azur is based on four scientific axes:
– fundamental artificial intelligence: statistics, machine and deep learning
– artificial intelligence serving computational medicine
– computational biology and bio-inspired AI
– AI and smart and secure territories
The institute is centered around applications concerning health and digital biology and smart territories.
