The Ligue 1 calendar for the 2026-2027 season was published this Wednesday. Maintained in the top flight after the playoffs against Saint-Étienne, OGC Nice will begin the championship at the Allianz Riviera facing FC Lorient on the weekend of August 22. This match will be played behind closed doors as part of a disciplinary sanction. The derbies against Monaco, the fixtures against PSG, OM and Lyon as well as a busy May are among the highlights of Nice’s schedule.
OGC Nice now knows the order of its matches for the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season. The official calendar was unveiled Wednesday afternoon by the Professional Football League. After a 2025-2026 season marked by a fight for survival concluded by a playoff victory against Saint-Étienne, the Azur club will return to Ligue 1 pitches on the weekend of August 22. The first match will pit the Red and Blacks against FC Lorient at the Allianz Riviera.
This match will, however, be played without spectators. The appeals commission of the French Football Federation sanctioned OGC Nice with two matches behind closed doors as well as a penalty point with suspension following incidents during the match against FC Metz at the Allianz Riviera. The first closed-door match was already served during the playoff against Saint-Étienne. The second must therefore be applied during the first home match of the 2026-2027 season. A procedure has nevertheless been initiated before the French National Olympic and Sports Committee.
The first away match is scheduled a week later, on August 29, at Paris FC. The Nice crowd will then return to the Allianz Riviera on September 5 for the reception of Le Mans.
A derby that promises to be heated late in the season
As every season, the clashes between Nice and Monaco are among the most anticipated dates on the calendar. The away match will take place at the Louis-II stadium on January 2, 2027, for the first matchday of the new year. The return match is scheduled for May 22 at the Allianz Riviera during the penultimate matchday.
Paris Saint-Germain will travel to Nice on November 21. The return match at the Parc des Princes is scheduled for May 16. Olympique Lyonnais will visit the Allianz Riviera on April 3 after their first clash in Lyon on October 17.
Olympique de Marseille will host Gym on December 5 before a Marseille trip to Nice on May 8. LOSC will also be on the schedule with a home match on September 19 and an away trip to the North on February 13.
Several other home matches will punctuate the season, notably against Rennes on October 31, Troyes on November 28, Lens on December 12, Le Havre on January 16, Brest on February 6, Auxerre on February 20, Toulouse on March 13, Paris FC on April 10 and Angers on April 24.
A particularly busy end to the season
The calendar provides a dense final stretch for Nice. May will begin with an away trip to Rennes on May 1. OM will then be expected at the Allianz Riviera on May 8. Nice will then travel to Paris to face PSG on May 16 before hosting Monaco on May 22. The season will end on May 29 in Strasbourg, at the Meinau stadium.
Before this conclusion, the final league match of 2026 will take place on December 12 against RC Lens at the Allianz Riviera. A thirty-second round of the French Cup is then scheduled for the weekend of December 19 and 20.
