More than 16 million French people participate in volunteer activities, putting into practice the principle of solidarity and thereby making a significant contribution to society. The Alpes-Maritimes department has 17,000 active associations, in which more than 200,000 volunteers are involved.
As a local actor, creator of social and civic links, the associative world represents a strength and a factor of dynamism for the Azurean Metropolis.
In order to highlight the work done and the involvement of these volunteers for their remarkable and selfless actions in all areas affecting society, the Mayors of the municipalities of the Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur were asked to propose particularly deserving volunteers who operate in their territories.
During the 3rd edition of this metropolitan event, 47 volunteers were awarded silver medals, 19 with gold medals, and 21 with gold zenith medals.
It was also an opportunity for Christian Estrosi, as president of the Metropolis, to thank them for their dedication: “The associative world of which you are the soul is a strength and an extraordinary factor of dynamism for our Azurean Metropolis.”
