Nice managed to win their first match. After two defeats, the NVB finally climbed back to the net by winning the match three sets to zero against Narbonne.
The players from Nice took the lead tonight, winning their first set of the season 25-20 against Narbonne. They finally managed to dominate and set up their game properly, while the Narbonne players tried but couldn’t find a weakness.
The same happened in the second set. Despite a closely contested second set due to errors from the Nice team, the Nice Volleyball Club managed to win it 25-20. The opponents did wake up, but they couldn’t catch up in the score.
We can note a few three-meter attacks from number 12 Clère. Despite a reprimand from the Narbonne coach, it didn’t change the outcome. His team showed little inspiration and lost the second set to the very fit “Aiglons.”
This second period concluded with a service error from the opponents, mistakes that frequently occurred throughout the match.
The beginning of the third set was more successful for both teams. Nice maintained their momentum and took the lead from the start. Thanks to a boost in confidence, errors were rare, and the game was much more settled on both sides.
Towards the end of the third set, Nice, more motivated than ever, left the Narbonne team stranded at the net and won this final set 25-16.
Notable performances came from number 15 Marko Radevic, 19 William Le Thuc, and 20 Yoann Jaumel.
