“On stage at the Bouff’scène in Nice”

Latest News

Brotherhood sometimes has touching similarities among the Concas family; one is a lawyer and politician, and the other is a hairstylist and comedian—Henri and Mister Concas from Nice, in a sense. Working within Pascal Coste’s company, Henri Concas even developed a management technique in the form of role-playing games, and it’s probably in the same spirit that he swaps his scissors for a microphone, just for the duration of a song.

Let’s meet Henri Concas, who explains to us why, how, and by whom all this happened.

Nice Premium: Henri Concas, you will be present at Bouff’scènes on February 1st, right?

Henri Concas: Yes, that’s right. At 8:30 PM on Friday, February 1st, and Saturday, February 2nd… and you will certainly be singing!!!

NP: How do you go from hairdressing scissors to the boards of a café theater?

HC: By sheer chance, I heard one evening during a “grand tarot,” about Monique Battiston and Alain Aimé, co-founders of Bouff’scene. Their very quirky world, yet very attentive to bar counter snippets, and their respect for Desproges, Bedos, and Pierre Dac among others, immediately caught my ear.

This gang of lunatics had the same pathology as me… Laughing.

NP: What is the theme of your show?

HC: THE MONUMENTS OF FRENCH SONG.

All these timeless songs that, even without a melody, just for the quality of the lyrics make you say: “Ah yes, it’s…!”

We’ve decided with Alain Aimé, our director, to play them in a quirky way. I will be the bard of the evening, the one who tries to sing (14 excerpts from songs) but… in the Concas style!

NP: Do you give lessons to your brother Marc for his performances on the… political scene?

HC: Two points:

He doesn’t need me because he has a natural talent. Could there be a penchant for performance in the Concas family?… research is ongoing. I have fun while what he does in politics and within the Nice bar is thrilling… but all that is really very serious.

NP: What are Henri Concas’s plans after these first shows?

HC: Spend some time with the woman of my life and with my children Rafael, Agathe, and Ornella.

Then, off to Paris in our Pascal Coste salons to deliver my “Funny Work” training which involves learning “New Process” through role-playing games. Pure happiness…

A lucrative hobby!!
