If the figures reported by his socialist opponent are true, it will be clear that the outgoing mayor has the unfortunate habit of telling things as it suits him. Well, it’s nothing too serious either; it’s just something to be aware of to take things in stride like the amusing adventures of Baron Munchausen.
Earlier this week, Jacques Peyrat expressed outrage, claiming that Christian Estrosi was taking credit for accomplishments that weren’t his, except for being in the right place at the right time to inaugurate public facilities that the former Mayor, Jacques Peyrat, had planned and initiated.
Everyone sees things from their own perspective…
Moreover, while figures, if accurate by definition, are always subject to interpretation. Just imagine how this applies to ideas… Especially those that are not always clear and often quite confused.
According to Patrick Allemand: “Once again, the Mayor of Nice lied when he declared: ‘When a factory closed, there was another factory opening when he was in charge of industry [between June 2009 and November 2010]. Today, when a factory opens, two factories close.’”
According to the socialist candidate: “That is false. There were 40,440 establishments in 2009 and 37,721 in 2011, which means 2,719 fewer factories in two years (-6.7%). Therefore, not at all one factory opened for each that closed. Just because it’s election campaign season doesn’t mean one can deceive citizens all the time.”
