Patrick Allemand: no more “Nice au coeur” in 2019

Latest News

The municipal and metropolitan councilor, Patrick Allemand, presented his New Year’s wishes to the press this Thursday.

He particularly wished to pay tribute to the journalistic profession by highlighting a difficult year for the media, rejected by 82% of the French population. “It is unacceptable for a team of journalists to have to resort to a private security company,” he stated regarding the violence on the fringes of the yellow vest protests. He then discussed the summary of actions undertaken in 2018.

  • The satisfaction with the overall work within the city, notably with the citizen platform “Nice au cœur,” which is an impetus for other groups. “We want to bring together forces not only from the political world,” he specified, referring to the associative environment.
  • The return of water to the Fontaine du pin, a victory that may seem anecdotal but has strong symbolic power according to Patrick Allemand. He criticized fountains that are not easily accessible to citizens.

  • The establishment of public citizen meetings for an immersion into the heart of Nice and closer proximity to the population.

For the year 2019, Patrick Allemand wishes to maintain this dynamic of convergence among various actors of Nice’s life. “Bipartisanship will no longer work. We must bridge the gap between the old models and people who do not want to be associated with a political party,” he concluded.
