Rudy Salles, Member of Parliament and Deputy Mayor of Nice, responsible for Tourism and International Relations, will meet tomorrow, Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 11:15 a.m., at the Main Town Hall, with Bian Jianqiang, the new Chinese Consul for Southern France. This former advisor to the Chinese Ambassador in France is replacing Song Binling, who has been the Consul General of China in Marseille for four years.

This visit will be an opportunity to exchange good wishes at the beginning of the year, which is under the sign of the dragon, to welcome the new Consul, and to discuss relations between Nice and China.

Due to its twinning with Hangzhou (Prefecture of Zhejiang Province near Shanghai) and its friendship pact with Xiamen (Special Economic Zone, Sub-Prefecture of Fujian Province located opposite Taiwan) for almost 15 years now, Nice has two showcases in China capable of promoting the creation of significant exchanges in various fields ranging from culture to education, including economic exchanges and tourism promotion.

Moreover, Nice is one of the most renowned European destinations for Chinese visitors who appreciate the mild climate, the sea/mountain combination, and the numerous luxury shops.
