The large collection of new school supplies organized by the Harley du Cœur for the benefit of hospitalized children, in partnership with the Lenval Foundation and the AC MARRIOTT hotel in Nice, begins this Saturday, August 22nd!
Back-to-School Solidarity: A simple idea and a huge chain of solidarity!
To offer hospitalized children a back-to-school season filled with generosity is the aim set this year by Harley du Cœur, in partnership with the Lenval Foundation and the Marriott AC hotel in Nice.
Back-to-school is a very important time in a child’s life, even more so for a sick child, who experiences it in the hospital. It’s also a key moment in the parents’ budget, which can be challenging to manage financially, especially when one or more children in a family are hospitalized.
Aware of these difficulties faced daily by the most underprivileged and financially vulnerable families, and eager to give every sick child the same opportunities, the big-hearted bikers decided, in close partnership with the Lenval Foundation and the AC MARRIOTT hotel in Nice, to create a charitable operation called BACK-TO-SCHOOL SOLIDARITY.
The idea is to collect new school supplies by appealing to the donations and generosity of participants, directly reaching out to them at their back-to-school shopping locations in the main supermarkets of the region.
These school supplies will then be fully handed over to the Lenval Foundation, which will distribute them to sick children.
Sensitization reaching as far as the Paris region!
With Harley du Cœur, solidarity knows no boundaries and easily crosses the Alpes Maritimes department! Proof of this is the arrival, next August, of about thirty adolescents from the City of Garges-Les-Gonesse (95) who, during their stay in Nice, and supervised by the Youth Service of their community, were very sensitive to the cause of sick children and wished to participate in this beautiful surge of generosity, coming to lend a hand to the big-hearted bikers and volunteers to collect with them as many new school supplies as possible and then offer them to hospitalized children!
Implementation of the project
This charitable operation will take place in two stages:
- First, the collection of school supplies between August 22 and August 30, 2015, in partner supermarkets, and from those who want to participate in this operation, by dropping their donations directly at the AC MARRIOTT hotel in Nice.

Then, the handover of this collection to the Lenval Foundation on August 31, 2015, during a reception organized in the late afternoon at the AC Marriott Hotel in Nice, with the partners of this operation and volunteers.
The two highlights of this operation will be on Saturday, August 22 with a collection happening simultaneously at Galeries Lafayette Cap 3000 and Carrefour Nice Lingostière (the bikers will be accompanied by young people from Garges and volunteers) and on Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 inside the AUCHAN store at La Trinité. This collection will take place with the presence of Harley du Coeur, assisted by volunteers, who will distribute recycled paper bags to customers, in the colors of the selected supermarket, appealing to their generosity and raising awareness about the importance of this charitable operation.
Once their shopping is done, participants will be invited to return the bags collected at the entrance, with the school supplies they wish to offer to the children.
The hospitalized children are counting on us!
