Nice Côte d’Azur Airport continues its development with the opening of six new shops in the terminals and the arrival of new air routes operated by easyJet. These changes concern both the passenger experience and connectivity from Nice.
Nice Côte d’Azur Airport recently welcomed six new shops within its terminals. This expansion, led by Lagardère Travel Retail in partnership with Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, is part of an evolution in the commercial offerings aimed at passengers.
The commercial offering has been organized around the Relay brand and based on a hybrid model. Several national and international brands have been integrated, including Miniso, Picard Surgelés, Nespresso, and Monop’Daily.
Local players have complemented the setup, including Maison Gannac, Nicolas Alziari, and Brasserie artisanale de Nice. This selection has helped anchor the offering in the Nice region and offer regional products to travelers.
The concept relies on a variety of uses. Passengers can access everyday products, quick dining solutions, and rest areas suited to the short times of the airport journey. The objective is to make the journey smoother and clearer throughout the terminals.
For Lagardère Travel Retail France, “this deployment illustrates the evolution of travel retail towards hybrid formats, combining travel essentials, dining, and services to meet increasing traffic and customer expectations increasingly oriented towards convenience and speed.”
With over 15 million passengers in 2025, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport has confirmed high attendance. The platform has maintained a structuring role in air traffic in France and Europe, with a strong proportion of international travelers.
Nice to Cairo and Nice to Lyon flights: easyJet launches two new routes from October 2026
At the same time, easyJet announces two new air routes from Nice for the fall-winter 2026 season.
The Nice to Cairo flight will begin on October 27, 2026, with two weekly flights planned on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The planes will service Sphinx International Airport, located near the Giza pyramids. The starting price is set at 75 euros, including taxes.
This route is a first for the company from France on this axis. The development of this destination meets an increasing demand towards Egypt, fueled notably by the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
The Nice to Lyon flight will be launched on October 26, 2026, with two weekly rotations scheduled on Mondays and Fridays. The travel time is estimated at one hour. The introductory fare is 40 euros, including taxes. This route targets business trips and short stays between Nice and Lyon.
These two openings are part of a broader program of nine new routes from France. The network also includes Bordeaux, Nantes, and Paris-CDG. EasyJet continues the development of its regional bases and its European and international connections.
The deputy director of easyJet for France, Reginald Otten, states: “with these new routes, easyJet continues its commitment to improving the connectivity of the French regions, responding both to the desires for escape and the mobility needs of our customers. From European city breaks to sunny destinations, we are strengthening and diversifying our offer from Nice, Lyon, Bordeaux, Nantes, and Paris-CDG. The acquisition of new traffic rights to Cairo marks a key step: it allows us to offer, for the first time from two French cities, an iconic and highly anticipated destination, fully illustrating our ambition to make travel ever more accessible and open to the world.”
Nice Airport: development between shops, air traffic, and new destinations
The opening of new shops at Nice Côte d’Azur airport and the launch of Nice–Cairo and Nice–Lyon flights reflect a global strategy. Nice Côte d’Azur airport adapts its services to increased traffic and expectations oriented towards speed, clarity, and diversity of the offer.
Two weeks after the inauguration of the Terminal 2 extension, Nice Côte d’Azur Airport has continued the development of its infrastructures. This extension is part of a phase of adaptation to increased traffic and changes in passenger flows. The opening of new spaces has accompanied the modernization of the terminal journey, with an organization designed to streamline travel and improve service clarity. This timeline also coincided with the launch of new commercial offers and the preparation for the winter season.
Nice airport thus continues the evolution of its model, between passenger experience, commercial offering, and air connectivity.
