Successful performance at the championship for Théo Pourchaire.

There were only three races left before the Belgian weekend for the thirty Formula 3 drivers. A track that the driver from Grasse knew from having already raced there during his F4 years.

The day after his 17th birthday (celebrated on August 20), Théo started his weekend perfectly in Friday’s qualifying session. After a first run halted by the crash of a newcomer (Belov), the Frenchman found himself in second position. When the session resumed, rain poured down on the circuit, preventing the other drivers from improving their times.

Thus, Théo from the French Riviera started the first race behind the German driver Lirim Zendeli. Making a good start, Pourchaire held onto his second place during a hectic first lap in the pack. The Frenchman managed to fend off the Trident driver, who, like him, is part of the Sauber Academy. A little later, around mid-race, the ART driver lost touch with the race leader. Struggling with his tires, he even saw the drivers behind him closing in, which forced him to fight at the end of the race to defend his position in the final corners. Ultimately, he made the best move in the championship by securing 20 points, while his direct competitors experienced mixed fortunes.

The next day, starting in 9th place under dry conditions made it difficult to hope for big points. But thanks to a perfect start, Théo Pourchaire, as an opportunist, maneuvered his way up to 5th place, notably with an overtake on Liam Lawson. Aggressive at the start of the race, the Frenchman even got the better of Caldwell. Approaching mid-race, he seized the third position by overtaking Richard Verschoor, who was struggling significantly. But with five laps to go, the driver from Grasse paid the price for his aggressive driving and fell to 6th place. Finally classified in 5th place thanks to a penalty received by Oscar Piastri ahead of him, the Frenchman scored 26 points this weekend and took the 5th place in the championship, only 5.5 points away from third place overall.

There are therefore two weekends left for Théo Pourchaire to conclude his first F3 season beautifully.
