Until June 13, the museum-ship Art Explorer is making a stop at the port of Nice on the occasion of the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC). Onboard: immersive works, virtual reality, and sound experiences to raise awareness of the fragility of seas and ecosystems.

From today until June 13, the museum-ship Art Explorer anchors for the first time in Nice, at port Lympia.

On the upper deck, a spatialized sound headset will take visitors on a sound map of the Mediterranean, designed with Ircam and the Centre Pompidou. A total immersion at sea.

In the main room, the virtual reality work The Beach of Starry Sand tells the threatened fate of foraminifera, essential to marine life. A scientific tale by Nina Barbier and Hsin-Chien Huang. An exhibition will also be presented at la Baleine, featuring Psychosphere by artist Jakob Kudsk Stensen.ย 

Until fall 2027, the Art Explorer will travel to 15 countries in the Mediterranean, connecting artists who collectively will imagine a new vision of the Mediterranean.
