To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the Grimaldi Forum is honoring the exhibitions that have marked its history. The current health situation in the country means that travel is impossible, but that is not a problem. The forum’s organization has published their 20 years of imagination in the service of unique events online as episodes.
A key venue in the Monegasque landscape, the Grimaldi Forum has had the immense privilege of hosting the largest international exhibitions with countless different themes. To relive or discover them, simply use this link which will redirect you to the Grimaldi Forum platform. https://www.grimaldiforum.com/fr/index/20-ans-d#.X2RvvZMzZ-0 At its inauguration on July 20, 2000, the goal of the Grimaldi Forum was to mark a change in dimension in business tourism and cultural entertainment policy. Just over 20 years later, the director of cultural events at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, Catherine Alestchenkoff, spoke about the site’s evolution.
“Today, the key word is creation, and we truly have two extraordinary assets here. On one hand, we do not have collections, we are not a museum. We have the opportunity to define a cultural policy as we wish, without being fixed on a specific guideline. […] The great fortune after 20 years of creation in all possible subjects, in both modern and contemporary art, is that the Grimaldi Forum has truly forged its own identity.”
The works come on loan from the world’s largest museums such as the Guggenheim in New York and the Louvre Museum. But it doesn’t stop there, as the Monegasque expertise in innovation and creation has been exported worldwide. With all these actions, the Grimaldi Forum contributes to the cultural influence of the Principality abroad. For more details, check the list of different episodes below:
