6 hours of cult images, television slip-ups, and bursts of laughter in succession, interspersed with prevention films from around the world: that’s the original program of the Night of the Zapping. After its launch evening on October 24 in Paris, the event arrives in Nice on March 5 at the Acropolis.
The poster says it: “It will knock you out while standing.” And for its 5th visit to Nice, they promise a hilarious summary of everything television has let through, more or less voluntarily, over the past few years.
Antoine de Caunes, the honorary president of Solidarité Sida, passionately defends this project: “Prepare yourself for a big bang of images and strong emotions from which you won’t come out completely unscathed.” According to him, a night that tirelessly reminds us that AIDS concerns all of us, wherever we are. The 20 years of Zapping are just an additional pretext to assert the necessity of this tour.
The excerpts are chosen according to a subjective selection. The “zappers” who are given this mission let themselves be guided by their sensitivity to thoroughly dissect all those events that television brings us to witness.
The few spectators who have already participated in the Solidarité Sida project won’t budge: it’s a unique experience that truly deserves to be lived.
The success of the last tour in 2004 is not the only reason motivating the return of the Night of the Zapping. The fight against AIDS is still in dire need of funds! People are poorly informed, and HIV still claims almost 8,000 victims daily around the world.
So hustle to the Acropolis venue on March 5. The show, which will not be broadcast on television, is accessible to everyone and serves primarily to perform a good deed by sharing a beautiful moment.
